Dear Campers,
Due to the prolonged drought and the resulting low water levels, our Waldsee (Steiner Weiher) has unfortunately had blue-green algae since August 5, 1926. There is no official ban on swimming, but swimming is currently not recommended. Alternative options include the Roth and Brombach lakes, as well as the outdoor pools in Heideck, Roth, and Hilpoltstein.

We are fully booked during the following periods, or have only a few campsites left:

Transponder & Barrier
Parking space
Your assigned campsite will be available exclusively to you during your stay. Please let us know your desired starting reading for your electricity meter when you check in. You may use a gas or electric grill at your campsite. Campfires, other open fires (including those in fire barrels), and charcoal grills are not permitted—risk of forest fire!
Please check in your visitors at the front desk. There is a daily fee of €3.00 per person, which allows them to stay until 10:00 p.m.

Arrival and Departure
- Shortening your stay: Please notify the front desk no later than the day before your scheduled departure. Please be sure to review our cancellation policy.
- Extending your stay: This is only possible with prior approval from the front desk.
- Day of Departure: Vacate the rental unit by 10:00 a.m. and return the keys. Leave the parking space by 12:00 p.m. Empty the refrigerator; do not leave any food behind.
- Extended stays at the campsite: possible by prior arrangement and for a daily fee.
Wi-Fi
Scheduled Taxi Service (LBT) – Getting Around Without a Car
Nuremberg and the surrounding region are easy to explore even without a car. For visitors without a car, there is the on-demand taxi service (LBT) operated by Stadtlinien Roth (routes 680.1–680.5, 681, 685).

When placing your order, please provide the following information: name, pickup location and destination, number of passengers, desired departure time, and whether you need to catch a train or bus connection.
Important: The ride must be booked by phone at least 1 hour before departure. Rides before 6:00 a.m. must be booked by 11:00 p.m. the previous day at the latest. The VGN joint fare applies—tickets can also be purchased directly on the LBT (single-ride ticket).

Campground Rules
To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, we ask all guests to observe these rules. In the event of noncompliance, we reserve the right to terminate your stay.
Hours of Operation
Registration – Admission – Check-out
- to vacate the parking space by 12:00 p.m. at the latest
- to return the rental property in a clean condition by 10:00 a.m.
If you would like to check out later (only possible for campsites), please check with the front desk in advance to see if the spot is still available. Please settle any outstanding balances on the day of departure and return any keys and the transponder you received.
Camping Sites
Your campsite is intended exclusively for one visitor unit (trailer or tent) and one car or RV. Small additional tents (2-person igloos) may be set up in exceptional cases with prior approval—please maintain a fire safety distance of 1.5 m from the neighboring plot.
On our grass fields, closed, impermeable tarps are not permitted as a tent floor, as they damage the grass surface.
For travel trailers and motorhomes equipped with liquid propane systems, the legally required safety certificate must be on hand. Gas cylinders—even empty ones—may only be transported with the safety cap in place and must be stored in a fire-safe manner.
Each parking space has an electrical outlet with a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). Please unroll the cable reels completely.
It is not permitted to mark the boundaries of campsites with ditches or fences. Please make sure that no one is endangered by tent stakes, tent ropes, or other camping equipment.
Tension lines, ropes, or cords stretched between trees or anchor points are permitted only if they remain at least 1.80 m above the ground along their entire length —even when under load.
Please do not attach nails, screws, hooks, wire loops, or cable ties to trees, hedges, or shrubs.
Only service water and wastewater may be discharged into the drains at the water stations. Wastewater from portable toilets may be emptied into the drains in the restroom buildings. Never allow wastewater to seep into the ground or flow into the storm sewer system.
Vehicle Traffic
The provisions of the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) and the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) apply mutatis mutandis throughout the entire campground and on the access road.
Riding is permitted only on the designated paths at walking speed (max. 10 km/h). Pedestrians have the right of way —please pay special attention to children.
Keep all streets and roads clear for emergency vehicles day and night. Parking vehicles on streets, roads, or in fire lanes is not permitted.
The vehicle barrier system may only be used by cars or motorcycles. Pedestrians and cyclists should use the sidewalk—they will not be detected by the safety system.
Rest Periods
Quiet hours are in effect daily from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p. m . and from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The gate is closed during these times. Exceptions include emergency services, the fire department, the police, the THW, as well as company vehicles, restaurant vehicles, and service providers.
Please set radios, televisions, and similar devices to a volume appropriate for a tent. In the interest of all guests, we ask that you also avoid loud conversations and noise that disturbs the peace during quiet hours.
Waste Disposal – Waste Separation
Please sort your waste and dispose of it at the recycling center —the bins are labeled. Bulky waste and hazardous waste are not accepted; these types of waste can be disposed of at the municipal recycling center.
Adults are responsible for taking out the trash and emptying chemical toilets.
Cleanliness and Order
Order and cleanliness are important to us—we conduct regular inspections of all facilities.
Please leave the restrooms in perfect condition. Smoking and bringing glass bottles into the restrooms are not permitted. Do not throw trash into the toilets; please use the trash cans provided.
For safety reasons, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult in restrooms and bathroom facilities.
Please use water sparingly and teach your children to do the same. Use laundry detergent sparingly and, whenever possible, avoid using fabric softener in the washing machine.
Wastewater from portable toilets can be disposed of at the drainage points in the restroom facilities. Please use only sewage treatment plant-friendly toilet additives.
Open Fires, Barbecues, and Fireworks
Our campground borders directly on a forest and has many trees on the grounds. Therefore, open fires are prohibited throughout the campground.
Barbecuing is permitted only with electric or gas grills (no charcoal, no disposable grills) and must be supervised at all times by at least one adult.
Setting off flares, tracer rounds, or fireworks is prohibited throughout the entire premises— even on New Year’s Eve.
Swimming in the "Waldsee" (Steiner Weiher)
The Waldsee (Steiner Weiher) is a public swimming pond. Swimming is at your own risk —there are no lifeguards on duty. Please always keep an eye on your children and other swimmers.
Swimming is prohibited during storm warnings, after dark (in the summer, starting at 9:00 p.m.), or during adverse weather conditions.
Please do not bring glass bottles into the swimming area.
In case of a water emergency: Call emergency services at 112 and notify the administrative staff immediately.
When using pedal boats, SUPs, kayaks, or similar watercraft, please be mindful of swimmers as well as anglers and their fishing lines.
Animal-Related
Pets are welcome here—please check them in at the front desk upon arrival. Dogs that are considered highly aggressive or dangerous under the Bavarian Dangerous Dog Ordinance are not permitted.
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times within the campground. They are not allowed in the restroom facilities, in the rental accommodations, or in the lake. Outside the campground, there are spacious areas where dogs can run free. Please make sure your dog does not relieve itself on paths or in meadows.
Feeding waterfowl (ducks, swans, etc.) is not permitted anywhere on the campground, including the shoreline area.
A daily fishing permit is required for fishing; these can be purchased at the front desk upon presentation of your fishing license. Please do not fish on the campground side —there is a risk of injury from fishhooks.
Soccer Field and Playground
For soccer games, there is a soccer field available in the adjacent forest (behind the Camping Waldsee restaurant, toward Weiherwirtin). We’d be happy to give you directions at the front desk.
The playground is reserved for children ages 0–2 (toddler area) and for children ages 3–14, and may only be used by children 14 years old or younger.
The table tennis table is available to people of all ages. Rackets and balls can be rented at the front desk for a rental fee.
Use of all play and sports facilities, as well as participation in events and children’s activities, is at your own risk. We assume no liability. Please report any damage to play or sports equipment to the front desk immediately.
Property Rights and Liability
The campground assumes no liability for any damage or loss incurred by the renter, their family members, or visitors—except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the campground operator or its employees.
The instructions issued by the administration and field staff are binding, particularly with regard to the placement of motor vehicles, trailers, tents, and similar structures.
The venue management reserves the right to refuse entry to individuals or to remove them from the premises if necessary to maintain safety and order in the interest of all guests.
Anyone who grossly violates the provisions of these park rules may be immediately expelled from the park.
Conducting a business or setting up a display on the square requires a permit from the administration.
The sale, possession, and use of drugs, narcotics, or intoxicants are prohibited throughout the entire campground.
Video Surveillance
Certain areas of the campground are monitored by video cameras to enforce property rights (identifying and preventing security risks). The recordings are automatically deleted on a regular basis.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi access is free, but it is not available throughout the entire campground.
Since we only have a 50 Mbit connection, we ask that you refrain from using the Wi-Fi for data-intensive applications (e.g., streaming, watching TV, video calls).
Please note that high signal load, use inside a vehicle, locations with dense foliage, or a greater distance from the repeaters can reduce reception performance.
Winter Operations
During the winter months, from November 1 through March 31, snow removal on the roads and paths within the campground is limited. Please plan accordingly.
Long-term campers
For annual and seasonal campers, the provisions of the annual contract also apply.

Arrival & Departure
When can I arrive?
Camping sites are available starting at 12:00 p.m., and rental facilities are available starting at 2:00 p.m. Please check in at the front desk upon arrival with a valid passport or ID card.
When do I have to check out by?
Can I bring visitors to the campground?
What if I want to leave sooner or later?
Access Road & Gate
When can I drive onto the campground?
You can pass through the gate outside of quiet hours using your transponder. The gate is closed during the afternoon rest period (1:00–2:00 p.m.) and the nighttime rest period (10:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). During these times, only company vehicles are permitted on the road.
How much does the transponder cost?
The transponder is issued upon payment of a €20.00 deposit and must be returned upon departure.
Can I go through the gate as a pedestrian or cyclist?
No, please use the sidewalk next to the barrier. The safety system does not detect pedestrians or cyclists.
Local Mobility
How can I get to the surrounding area or to Nuremberg without a car?
With Stadtlinien Roth’s on-demand taxi service (LBT), you can get around even without your own car. The taxi operates on a reservation basis—simply call (09171) 97 90 90 at least 1 hour before your desired departure time and provide your name, pickup location, destination, number of passengers, and preferred time. VGN fares apply; tickets can also be purchased in the taxi. For trips before 6:00 a.m., please book by 11:00 p.m. the day before.
Barbecues & Fires
Am I allowed to have a barbecue on my campsite?
Yes, barbecuing is permitted using electric or gas grills. Charcoal, disposable grills, and open fires of any kind (including campfires and fire barrels) are not permitted for fire safety reasons. Our campground borders a forest.
Can I set off fireworks?
No, setting off fireworks is prohibited throughout the entire grounds—even on New Year’s Eve.
Dogs & Pets
Are dogs allowed at the campground?
Yes, dogs are welcome on the campsites—please register your dog at the front desk upon arrival. Dogs must be kept on a short leash throughout the entire campground.
Can I take my dog into the lake?
No, dogs are not allowed at Waldsee. The dog swimming area is located at nearby Rothsee.
Are pets allowed in the rental properties?
No, pets are not allowed in rental properties.
Are certain dog breeds banned?
Yes, dogs classified as having increased aggression under the Bavarian Dangerous Dog Ordinance are not permitted.

Are there washing machines and dryers?
Food & Shopping
Can I order bread rolls?
Yes, at the Waldsee-Stuben restaurant, you can pre-order breakfast rolls and daily newspapers for the next morning until 7:00 p.m.
Is there a restaurant right on the grounds?
Yes, the Waldsee-Stuben restaurant is located on the grounds. The Waldsee restaurant is also located about 120 meters away.
Waste & Environment
How does waste separation work?
We ask that you sort your trash at your accommodations. At the recycling center, there are labeled bins for glass/cans, paper, the yellow bag, and general waste. Bulky items, carpets, and yard waste do not belong in our bins—please use the municipal recycling center.

Is there a playground?
Yes, our playground is for children ages 0–2 (toddler area) and ages 3–14. Table tennis rackets and balls can be rented at the front desk for a rental fee.
Is there a soccer field?
Yes, there’s a soccer field in the nearby woods (behind the restaurant). We’d be happy to give you directions at the front desk.
